Four days STEM Camp at Gomdar Central School concluded on 13 March 2023. 48 (17 girls and 31 boys) students of classes 8-10 attended the Camp conducted by JNEC. The “Grassroots STEM Education Outreach Programme” is supported by UNICEF Bhutan and IEEE Pre-University STEM portal.
Participants were introduced to developing basic applications on automation, IoT, and robotics on Arduino Microcontroller and STEMSEL runlinc controller. The programme is an initiative to provide access, exposure to STEM learning tools, thereby ensuring hands-on learning experience on two platforms . Eventually, through this programme, rural youths are encouraged to take up STEM fields. To enable them continue learning and enhancing STEM interest, Arduino Robotic kits, runlinc controller and accessories are handed over to school management. School’s STEM Club activities will be strengthened with the students’ exposure and the materials.
The programme is moved to ORONG central school where students will be immersed in enhancing basic practical experience on STEM on 14 – 19 March.
