On 27th August 2022, Jigme Namgyel Engineering College initiated a mass cleaning campaign in and around Dewathang town and its vicinity.
This cleaning campaign was organized by Waste Management Club to not only clean all the waste but also to sensitize the local community about proper waste disposal and management.
To execute this noble initiative, more than 800 students, faculty and staff were divided into eight groups. These groups covered areas such as Dewathang town, Dewathang hospital, Dungsam Academy Junction, way towards Garpawong Central School, and a group also walked almost 9 km towards Trashigang- Samdrup Jongkhar highway.
The college offers heartfelt gratitude to Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde for providing refreshments and rendering a garbage truck for proper waste disposal.
