The Department of Renewable Energy (DRE) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Jigme Namgyel Engineering College signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 19th February, 2018. The two organization will hereafter collaboratively fulfill the shared goals and objectives listed below:
- Enhance the competency of energy managers and energy engineers in both public and private sectors.
- Collaborate on energy efficiency, energy auditing and energy management in industry and building sectors.
- Share resources for carrying out research activities in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency, where feasible
In addition the two organizations will also identify training needs in areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency for both and work together to seek and mobilize necessary funds for renewable energy and energy efficiency programmes. The MoU was signed by the Director of DRE and the President of the college. The term of this MoU is for a period of three years from the date of agreement and may be extended on mutual agreement.
With the event of signing MoU, the Director of DRE also had two guest lecture session for all Diploma Final Year and B.E Power students.
