Students and staff of Jigme Namgyel Engineering College celebrated the Deepavali, the festival of lights also known as Deepavali on 4th November, 2021
Deepavali, the most important religious festival in the Hindu religion is celebrated by southern Bhutanese community of Bhutan. Deepavali meaning “rows of lighted lamps”, represents the triumph of good over evil, hope over despair and knowledge over ignorance.
The celebration began by lighting of Diyas and butter lamps by President of the College, Deans, Head of Departments and other staff followed by singing of ‘deusi-bhailo’ and cultural show by the students.
The Deepavali is celebrated every year and is organized by students.
