After nearly two years of rigorous documentation review and a series of sustained follow-up communications with officials of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), UK, Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC) has successfully secured approval to operate as both a CIPS Study Centre and Examination Centres. This milestone represents a significant advancement in strengthening professional education in procurement and supply chain management at the College.

This achievement strongly aligns with the Royal University of Bhutan’s vision of internationalisation of academic programmes, ensuring that existing offerings are benchmarked against global standards. The approval further complements and enhances JNEC’s existing Diploma in Materials and Procurement Management programme, creating clear professional progression pathways for students and practitioners.

The approved centres will initially offer:

* CIPS Level 2 – Certificate in Supply Chain Operations

* CIPS Level 5 – Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management and Operations

Course delivery is scheduled to commence from the academic year 2026, equipping learners with internationally recognised competencies, ethical procurement practices, and global professional credibility. These courses will be offered through both online and face-to-face modes, providing flexible access to globally recognised qualifications. This milestone reflects JNEC’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, global relevance, and capacity building in procurement and supply chain management.
