Jigme Namgyel Engineering College, Royal University of Bhutan is one of the recipients of a European Union Grant (Erasmus +) for a project titled “Promotion of Energy Efficient Lighting Education in Nepal and Bhutan (ELNAB)”. The project is coordinated by Aalto University, Finland and includes the following beneficiaries:

  5. Kathmandu University, Nepal

As part of the project, JNEC will organize an International Seminar in Thimphu, Bhutan on 10th March 2017. The seminar is aimed at understanding the policy, perception and usage of energy efficient lighting system in Bhutan and to create awareness on the usage of energy efficient lighting among the major stakeholders in Bhutan.  The seminar is also expected to provide an avenue for academics and industry partners to network and engage in research and development activities.
Experts from the partner universities in Europe and representatives from the Department of Renewable Energy (MoEA), Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd., Bhutan Power Corporation Ltd., Private Sector, Bhutan Electricity Authority, Bhutan Standards Bureau, College of Science and Technology and JNEC will participate in the one-day awareness raising seminar.
