It is crucial that young minds in academic establishments as well as Bhutanese people in general remember, appreciate and pay respect and tribute to the highly revered founding father of Bhutan, Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, undoubtedly the greatest figure in the history of Bhutan. Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel unified the country and established the dual system of government and in addition, introduced a distinctly Bhutanese cultural identity in the country.

Since the last 3 (three) years, the Tshogchhung has been organizing mass Jigten Wangchuk prayer recitation during 10thday of the 3rd month of the Bhutanese calendar coinciding with Zhabdrung Kuchhoe as one of the main activities.

This year marks the royal birth of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey, the birth of Guru Rinpoche and the 400th year of the arrival of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in Bhutan, making it a very auspicious year.

This year again on Zhabdrung Kuchhoe (April 16, 2016), a mass recitation will be organized, coinciding with the naming of HRH The Gyalsey. The mass recitation will be dedicated to the wellbeing of HRH The Gyalsey, His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and the people of Bhutan.
