Helping Hand Club

About the Club

Jigme Namgyel Engineering College is based at a very strategic location. The College believes in providing holistic education, an education embedded with GNH values.The Institute wishes to take advantage of its facilities such as engineering and technical infrastructure and equipment, multi skilled technical professionals, manpower and experts in various fields in helping the communities in the vicinity to live an easier live and thus aspires to put GNH into practice.

In the past, the contribution to the holistic development of the communities was not significant, but now under the initiative of the Director; a social service unit called ‘The Helping Hand’ is officially formed on November 22, 2011.

The Unit is comprised of the following members:

  1. Director – Chairman
  2. Staff Coordinator
  3. Student Secretary
  4. 29 students and 4 staff as working members.

The members are inducted purely on voluntary basis and all the members are highly committed to help the local community. The activities will possibly spread over other areas of the nation in future.

Objectives:

  • To help financially/physically disadvantaged individuals in and around the community,
  • To provide financial and other help to school going children in distress,
  • To work for the holistic benefit of the community.
